Biography

Mary-Ellen Proctor is a vibrant, new talent, in the world of published authors. Her first novel of a trilogy, Change of Heart, has just hit the proverbial shelves, with Change of Mind and Change of Soul, nipping at its heels. Mary-Ellen's writing is driven by the heart, with intentional, compelling messages.

Born in Prince Rupert, B.C., Mary-Ellen traversed her childhood within the heavily forested and mountainous, northern interior region of the province, as her family made their home in Houston, B.C. In her sixty-three years, she has led an interesting life, gifting the world with a varied and remarkable skill set.

As one who ambled alongside her, you may have born witness, as she operated and helped fix a piece of equipment at Houston Forest Products. Perhaps you were back-packing in the forest surrounding Prince Rupert, and came upon her with a chain saw in hand; falling trees, building hiking trails, or maintaining the city's parks. On numerous occasions, you'd have been awestruck, following her through B.C., as she graced numerous stages, with her singing voice. It doesn't end there.

Mary-Ellen's deep-seated passion led her to fight for women's rights; as an Executive Director with a transition house, and Health Director in Northern B.C. She endured a twenty-one-day hunger strike, to bring awareness to domestic violence, during her time in Fort McMurray, AB. Mary-Ellen recently retired from her decade-long position as CLO with Canada's largest LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) project.

Mary-Ellen has since spent her well-earned time, out on her sailboat with family and friends! She has enjoyed many passions, but her greatest love is for family, friends, and making a profound difference in people's lives. She now strives to accentuate this impact, stirring hearts and souls, through her writing endeavors.
